I used to spend my evenings at Occupy at St Pauls when all the tents were on the concrete and business men were asking how activists could go to Starbucks. Here I met a guy called Anon, his surname was Ymous and he’d show me his official ID proving such statements. I couldn’t tell you what his face looked like because it was inside a pillow case with two holes cut out for eyes and skiing goggles over the top. Alongside his AnonYmous ID, he’d also carry with him a handwritten card saying why he couldn’t take his face coverings off. It was always such a pleasure talking to him, me and my friend would bring him and the camp flowers from the posh hotel bins and it all just felt like a messy but fresh hotbed for change and potential.
