A “rider” is generally a set of requests or demands that an artist or performer sets as a criteria - usually technical things or relating to hospitality (for example, I want 15 orange juices in my dressing room🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤 or I want 6 ticking time clocks 🕰️🕰️🕰️🕰️🕰️🕰️).
An Environmental Responsibility Rider is made at the start of a project and communicates the sustainability expectations between you and another. For example, it could be shared with a gallery during the planning stages of a solo show to ensure that no vinyl is used, or all work is shipped rather than flown.
<aside> 🗣️ In your rider, be clear and concise and, as different organisations are at different stages of their sustainability work, remain open and willing to compromise on some points where necessary.
